Meet the makers: a day in the shop

People picture a factory. It is not that. It is an Amish family shop where a piece gets touched by the same few hands from raw board to finished glider.
From board to piece
- Poly boards arrive in weatherwood and black, the color all the way through.
- Every part is cut, routed, and rounded before assembly — no sharp edge anywhere your hand lands.
- Frames go together with marine-grade stainless hardware, and the glide is tested by the builder himself.
- Every piece is inspected — Dad signs off, literally — before it is wrapped for the road.
Where I come in
Dad handles the builders. I handle the part he calls "all that computer business" — the website, the photos, and reading every message that comes through.
